Description
| - In this work, two basic modes I resp. II of the joint failure are desribed as failures under tensile and shear loading, respectively. DCB (Double Cantilever Beam) test results in failure I, ENF (End Notched Flexure) test in failure II. These tests were used for the identification of the critical strain energy release rates which are the parameters of the cohesive crack model. MSC.Marc system includes so-called interface elements for the cohesive zone modeling which can have linear or exponential or linear-exponential behaviour. These elements require knowledge of the Critical Opening Displacement (COD) which relates to the crack head location. The COD value was identified using an optimization algorithm from the comparison of the load-displacement curves of the experiments and their numerical simulations. The exponential beavior of the elements was assumed in the simulations.
