Description
  • The paper deals with the homogenized smooth muscle continuum. The mathematical model regards material and geometrical nonlinearities of the particular components: muscle cells, collagen fibres and the composite matrix. The interaction between viscoelastic collagen fibres and the matrix described in terms of complementarity relations. The mixed formulation is used to define deformation problem for displacements and pressure. For obtaining numerical solution of the finite element discretized problem the Newton method is employed. Computer simulations are discussed in examples.
