| Description
| - Dependability management is currently considered to be another important part of the integrated system management (IMS) taken into practice. The opening of the article describes what the dependability actually is, how it can be determined, assessed, described and used. This is followed by description of how to apply it into practice and integrate it into the basic management of IMS. The regulations of ČSN ISO EN 60 300-1 and other relevant standards covering the topic of the dependability management are also discussed. The article also indicates how to apply this system into organization and furthermore discusses some case studies where the integration of particular parts of the regulations can be a difficult task to carry out. The analysis of the basic categorization of dependability can be found in the article as well. The terms used for the dependability are defined here. These terms come under the field of availability performance and three basic areas relating to the dependability. These three factors are: reliability performance, maintainability performance and maintainability support performance. Throughout the whole concept there is always an aspect of human factor involved: the worker - the operator. The dependability can be significantly affected by a human approach towards the dependability, for that reason this fact must be also considered. Subsequently various methods and techniques leading to optimization and dependability are presented. The conclusion of the article evaluates compatibility with some of the basic regulations closely linked to IMS.
