Description
  • As requirements increase for the quality of rolled products and, at the same time, demand for controlled mechanical properties across the product cross-section, it is necessary to come up with new technologies, which are able to meet these specifikations. One of these technologies is the new thermomechanical rolling process performed on HDQT ? High Deformation Quenching and Tempering system. It relies on intensive reduction of the cross-section of the the required dimensions tiwh high geometric accuracy and defined mechanical properties. Together witch temperature control, this represents a new system for thermomechanical treatment offering control of technological parameters across a wide range. Various types of microstructures in steels can be achieved, ranging from ferrite-pearlite across ferrite-pearlite-bainite-martensite to martensite, while refining the grain through incremental deformation. Thanks to a beneficial stress state in the formed product, this technology offers rolling deep below Acl temperature, which increases the final tensile and yield strengths without a substantial loss of ductility. The equipment is compact and efficient. This paper presents an example of material-technological modelling of steel processing and results for real-world rolling products.
