Description
  • Combining high strength with good ductility while maintaining low costs represents a very important criterion in a new material development. Among materials meeting such requirements belong TRIP steels. With TRIP steels it is necessary to reach a fine grain structure but further also to obtain suitable volume fractions of individual phases in order to be able to utilize the TRIP effect during the final cold deformation. Their structure consists of ferrite, bainite and retained austenite, which transforms to deformation induced martensite during the cold deformation. The aim of the experiment was to determine the influence of the austenitization temperature and the number of incremental deformation steps on structure development of low alloyed TRIP-steel during thermomechanical treatment in order to obtain structures with suitable phase distribution. The obtained structures were analysed via light and scanning microscopy and a tensile test was used for estimation of mechanical properties.
