Description	This article highlights the integration of two completely different parts of Germany. It briefly appraises the structure of the new federal states in the last twenty years and also the changes in the West German community. It has prized numerous successes and also refers to the failings and the costs of the unification. It further demonstrates on the one hand the currently existing distinctions and on the other hand the various assimilation processes between East and West Germany. Finally, it is the reunification of Germany evaluated from a present-day perspective. (en) Der Artikel befasst sich mit dem Zusammenwachsen von zwei absolut unterschiedlichen Teilen Deutschlands. Er beurteilt kurz den Aufbau in den neuen Bundesländern in den letzten zwanzig Jahren, sowie auch die Veränderungen in der westdeutschen Gesellschaft. Es werden zahlreiche Erfolge gewürdigt und wird auch auf Misserfolge bzw. die Kosten der Vereinigung hingewiesen. Außerdem behandelt dieser Artikel einerseits immer noch bestehende Unterschiede und anderseits diverse Angleichungsprozesse zwischen Ost- und Westdeutschland. Abschließend wird die Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands aus heutiger Sicht gewertet.
