Description	In year 2001 the performance of the Czech economy was belong to the most discuessed issues in the Czech economic circles. The goal of this paper was to contribute to this discussion by author's own viewpoint, where the emphasis does not come only on the development of GDP and its individual components but also on the development of multi-criteria performance indexes, which enable to evaluate macroeconomic performance of the country. A common approach of analysts concerning the evaluation of the economic performance enabled to arrive at the following conclusion: the performance of the Czech economy increased in year 2000. The results seemed to sound less optimistic when we applied multi-criteria indexes for evaluation of the Czech economy performance: the performance of the Czech economy showed a decline. (en) V roce 2001 patřila v českých ekonomických kruzích k jedněm z nejdiskutovanějších témat výkonnost české ekonomiky. Cílem tohoto příspěvku bylo přispět do této diskuse vlastním pohledem, v němž je kladen důraz nejen na vývoj HDP a jeho jednotlivých složek, ale také na vývoj vícekriteriárních výkonnostních indexů, které umožňují zhodnotit makroekonomickou výkonnost země. Běžný přístup analytiků k hodnocení ekonomické výkonnosti nám umožnil učinit následující závěr: výkonnost české ekonomiky v roce 2000 vzrostla. Poněkud méně optimisticky pak vyzněly závěry v okamžiku, kdy jsme pro hodnocení výkonnosti české ekonomiky zvolili vícekriteriární indexy ekonomické výkonnosti: výkonnost české ekonomiky měla tendenci klesat.
