| - Již od počátku civilizace byly obiloviny významnou částí potravin pro lidskou výživu z pohledu obsahu energie a nutričně významných složek. V posledních letech narůstá v zemích se %22západním%22 životním stylem v posledním období zájem o zvýšení podílu obilovin v lidské výživě a to zejména v důsledku mnohých vědeckých poznatků, které demonstrují význam obilovin pro lidské zdraví a prevenci rozšířených civilizačních chorob. Konference byla mezinárodním setkáním na kterém se uskutečnila nejen výměna vědeckých a výzkumných poznatků, ale také se vytvořily významné kontakty mezi pracovníky z oblasti vědy a výzkumu, šlechtění obilovin a zpracovatelského průmyslu. Přednášky a panelová sdělení byla publikována ve formě sborníku (Cereals for Human Health and Preventive Nutrition, Proceedings of the International Conference, Brno, Czech Republic, July 7-11, 1998.ISBN 80-902545-0-0). - Since the beginning of the civilization, cereals have been an essential part of food in human nutrition due to their content of energy and nutritionally important substances. In the regions with the %22western%22 life-style, an increasing concern in higher proportion of cereals in human nutrition has been recorded in the last years, particularly due to numerous scientific findings which demonstrate their importance in human health and prevention of frequent chronic diseases. The conference was the international meeting where has been exchanged not only scientific and research findings, but also established new important contacts among those working in the field of science and research, breeding cereals and processing industry. Oral and poster presentations has been published (Cereals for Human Health and Preventive Nutrition, Proceedings of the International Conference, Brno, Czech Republic, July 7-11, 1998.ISBN 80-902545-0-0).
