Description
  • Hospital beds are available in many categories. The mechanical positioning systems are rare in new products most of them are equipped by electrical drive for positioning. The entry level electrical hospital bed has three drives, one for positioning head-chest part of the body, second for leg area and the last one is used for control of overall high of the patient. The high level beds are used mostly on intensive care centres. There could be integrated interface for vital function monitors, or special active mattress control to prevent decubitus. On these types of bed, could be change horizontal inclination and declination. Electrical drives on these beds have other functionality. It helps nurses to handle with patient. The next feature that could be integrated into electrical controlled bed is active or passive rehabilitation move. The passive moves are, in point of view, made by bed and patient interaction is not needed. It used for neural and muscular stimulation, which influence the blood circulation in positive way too. The active moves means where patient applied force or torque made by own to move some weight or change the position of rehabilitation device. The special part of the passive rehabilitation is micromotions which help change tonus in muscular systems and prevent spasm of the patient. The paper describes first design and implementation of the rehabilitation on low level hospital bed with electrical drives.
