Description
  • This article deals with basic methodology how to work with microphotographs from real composites cuts and models based on them. Main focus was concerned to the mesolevel which is in our case the basic unit cell of plain weave reinforcement consists from infinite fiber bundles. Construction of models allows classical weave of woven reinforcement but also deformed places during lamination process and curing. Anyway some idealization was also necessary in our case for composition whole composite plate and study of its symmetry. Models were used for computation of mechanical properties in commercial software Comsol Multiphysics in which it is possible to import vector format constructions. Computation was focused mainly for elastic properties in area without deformation. It is possible to localize critically loaded area in the model. Material was set in two types: carbon/carbon composite and glass/polysiloxane composite which was already tested at our department with classical tests so results should be proved and corrected. The further study will be concerned to other materials with health friendly characteristics and environmentally acceptable.
