Description
| - The standard measurement of yarn strength is carried out at 500 mm gauge length. However, in practice, yarns experience stresses at different lengths. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate the descriptive statistical parameters of yarn strength at diffelengths and to observe the distribution of yarn strength values along the yarn. In this present research work, yarn strength is considered as a stationary, ergodic, Marcovian, and Gaussian (SEMG) stochastic process and the strength of adjacent yarn sections of a gauge length longer than the longest fiber length is measured in a consecutive manner by a special methodology. On the basis of these strength values, we have simulated the response of yarn strength at any gauge length. The results of our computer simulation are also verified with the actual strength values and compared with F. T. Peirce's strength model. In order to better understanding of the causes of yarn strength variability, autocorrelation function is used to analyze the str
