Description
  • This theoretical work deals with the analysis of the strength and extension of fiber assemblies taking in consideration the variability of fiber extension within each component. The results of theoretical model were compared with results calculated from the well-known linear theory of blending where the extension of the individual fiber within each component assumed to be the same. It was shown that the fiber extension variability significantly affects the behavior of the stress-strain curve at any blenratio. This theoretical model is considered as a further step for approximating the behavior of real blended fiber assemblies.
