Description	The aim of the paper is to analyze returns on public and private investments in public and private higher education sectors and to comment on public educational policy of the Czech Government. The data from the survey of Czech universities students´earnings expectations collected during the years 2001-2009, are used. The private higher education system is based on paying tuition; therefore the investments of private universities students are higher in comparison with public schools student; but it does not mean that this investment is reasonably paid off. Using the generally accepted Mincer´s earning function we estimate different variables in the regression model, influencing university students´earnings expectations.
