  • The Automotive seats optimization is very important for increasing safety during the crash of the car. Passengers are in a permanent contact with automotive seat. Car seats research shows, that passengers safety depends mainly on position of the body. A lot of neck bone injuries during the rear impact are caused by incorrect position of headrest and head. It is possible to optimize headrest position and mechanical properties like different shapes, stiffness, etc in virtual simulation FEM. Initial and boundary condition are included in real EURONCAP Whiplash test. The criterion for safety prescribes HIC factor. Input material behaviors of used materials are analyzed from real measurement of specimens by using experimentally test equipment. Results from simulations are important for car seats producers during seat development. Real crash tests are very expensive and will be only for confirmation of simulations.
