Description	The article deals with measurements of linear changes of castings from foliated graphite iron and Al- alloys during their solidification. For this purpose the measuring apparatus, which applies a dilatometer of Polish provenience, was built up. Dilatatiocurves of graphite iron and Al-alloys were acquired during the casting process. In the case of Al-alloys the influence of chemical composition and metallurgical treatment (use of refining salts) on linear changes during solidification and on the dimension of shrinkage originating was observed. (en) Článek se zabývá měřením lineárních změn grafitických litin a slitin hliníku při jejich tuhnutí. Pro tyto účely byla sestrojena měřící aparatura, která uplatňuje dilatometr polské výroby. Byla naměřena řada křivek tuhnutí grafitických litin a slitin hlinku. U slitin hliníku byl sledován vliv chemického složení a vliv očkovadla. (cs)
