Description	The PUBLIC DREAMS project has been coceived as a series of interventions into the public space of the town of Usti nad Labem. The region of North Bohemia and usti nad Labem as its regional centre have a reputation of a locality with seriously eroded social and environmental structures. This erosion is a consequence of the fundamental changes of the local social milieu made after the displacement of the original German inhabitants in the second half of the 1940´s, and is at the same time connected with the huge industrial exploitation organised by the communist totalitarian regime. The PUBLIC DREAMS project is especially focused on artistic reflection of present problems characterizing this region: the tension in the coexistence of individual ethnic groups, continuing environmental devastation, high unemployment rate, low percentage of educated people, stagnating process of economic restructuring, etc. The PUBLIC DREAMS project has been coceived as a series of interventions into the public space of the town of Usti nad Labem.
