Description
  • The chapter begins with evolution of biogeomorphology in context of geomorphologic science and Quaternary landscape ecology, continuing with introduction to most recent advances in different branches of terrestrial biogeomorphology, including dendrogeomorphologic research of rock-fall processes, landslides, debris flows, gully erosion and sheet erosion, as well as zoogeomorphologic research of animal trampling and zoodisturbances. Finally, it presents two non-destructive methods, used to study recent hillslope processes at a slope scale, first one based on modelling of bioprotective role of fallen trees and the second one, aiming at reconstruction of hillslope processed using polypores.
