  • Since the late nineties of the 20th century we meet at elementary schools in the Czech Republic all the time more often the sociological-pedagogical-communication problem caused by the increasing number of pupils for whom the mother tongue is not the Czech. (At the present time, their total number at primary schools in the Czech Republic reaches two percent of all pupils.) Following the call of the Seminar %22Meeting the challenge of multilingual classrooms: exploiting plurilingual repertoires, managing transitions and developing proficiency in the language(s) of schooling%22 which was held in Strasbourg on 7 - 8 March 2012 and that we had the opportunity to personally participate, we want to appeal the subject multicultural pedagogy to be included among other programs for teacher training at universities in the Czech Republic.
