Description	The questions of territorial security, or risks, including the security of city inhabitants and critical infrastructure protection could be dealt with in urban planning tasks, as is proven from our experience, from their earliest steps and not merely at the stage when the spatial pattern has been planned and fixed in the urban planning documentation. The contemporary situation in the Czech Republic is such that security tasks and questions are solved and improved only ex-post facto and their importance in the planning processes is considered to be very low. The planning legislation neglects the critical infrastructure protection and also the majority of territorial security questions. The paper is focused on these very important and currently unsolved and disseminated problems.
