Description
  • Epigenetic changes, identified as methylations in tumour suppressor genes and histone modifications, are frequently found NSCLC lung tissue samples. According to recent reports, these changes may have certain diagnostic and prognostic value. Patients and methods: A group of 154 consecutive patients predominantly with stage III-IV NSCLC, who were treated by chemotherapy or therapy, was admitted into this study. Hypermethylation status of genes CHFR, CDH13, RARB, APC, RASSF1A, CDKN2A(p16) and MGMT was investigated in tumor-positive cytologic samples from bronchoscopic investigation a the beginning of the therapy.
