Description
  • The paper deals with the problematic of determination of fracture mechanics parameters with the use on mini-samples. Small punch test technique is employed here. Standard testing method for fracture toughness determination on three point bend samples is also utilized as a reference method for the SPT based results comparison. Proposed methods for fracture toughness evaluation from small punch tests in the brittle state are applied to several materials in the current paper together with the additional evaluation of tensile properties from small punch tests data. The correlation between small punch test results and results of conventional tests are investigated in the current paper.
