Description	Exact small-plot trials with pea (Pisum sativum L.) semi-leafless variety Zekon were sown and assessed at two different localities in Czech Republic in 2007 – 2008. The effects of seed dressings (two doses of thiamethoxam, thiamethoxam + fludioxonil + methalaxyl-M; two doses of clothianidin + betacyfluthrin) and foliar applications (chlorpyrifos + cypermethrin; acetamiprid, lambda-cyhalothrin) on pea leaf weevils (Sitona lineatus L.) (imagoes and larvae) were compared. Tested seed dressings showed relatively long-lasting and sufficient protection of several bottom nodes of stipules simultaneously. Foliar applications sometimes expressed to themselves only on the node which was determined as the youngest node at the time of spraying. Significant positive effects of thiamethoxam and clothianidin + betacyfluthrin on root nodulation in general were recorded.
