Description
  • Silane based compounds are widely used in the field of porous building material protection and conservation. Silane based water repellents have been sucssesfully used for many porous materials such as concrete, stone, plaster, ceramics and brics. Alkoxysilanes enjoy a pivileged position especially in consolidation and protection of historical monuments. Since alkoxysilanes can be applied onto building materials that had been contaminated with salts, it is expedient to learn how the soluble salts can affect the effectivness of treatment permormed with silane based products and the alkoxysilanes polymerization. The temperature of acid catalyzed polymerization of tetraethoxysilane in organic salts presence was monitored in time dependence. Strengthening effect was assessed by 3-point bend testing of artifically made blocks.

  • Alkoxysilany se stali v současné době běžnou součástí prostředků určených ke konsolidaci a hydrofobizaci povrchů, zejména kamenných objektů, ale také cihel, popřípadě omítek nebo betonu. Pro své příznivé vlastnosti jsou tyto látky velmi vhodné především pro ošetření stavebních materiálů historických objektů. Tyto prostředky někdy bývají aplikovány na povrch kontaminovaný anorganickými solemi a nabízí se proto otázka vlivu přítomnosti soli na účinnost konsolidace, resp. na průběh polymerizace silanů. Zkoumán byl vliv vodorozpustných anorganických solí na průběh hydrolýzy a kondenzace tetraethoxysilanů. Působení solí bylo zkoumáno prostřednictvím sledování časově teplotního průběhu reakce a měření pevnosti v tahu za ohybu na vzorcích solemi kontaminovaného umělého kamene. (cs)
