Description
  • The need of low-cost Al materials for automotive applications imposes the development of twin-roll cast (TRC) sheets. Car-body inner panels are often manufactured from Al-Mg alloys. Recent R&D results indicate that TRC 5754 and 5182 sheets can be a suitable substitution for direct-chill (DC) cast sheets. The paper reports the results of an investigation aimed at evaluating the microstructure, texture and properties of 1.0 mm-thick O-temper sheets prepared by both technologies. Similarities and differences in the response of the materials to the same processing route are looked for and discussed taking into account differences in casting rate and processing conditions.

  • Potřeba levných Al materiálů pro automobilové aplikace podnítila vývoj plechů litých mezi válce (twin-roll cast, TRC). Vnitřní panely karoserií automobilů jsou často vyráběné ze slitin Al-Mg. Nové výsledky výzkumu naznačují, že TRC plechy 5754 a 5182 mohou být vhodnou náhradou pro plechy vyráběné přímým litím do kokil. Příspěvek podává výsledky studia zaměřeného na vývoj mikrostruktury, textury a vlastností plechů tloušťky 1 mm ve stavu O připravených oběmi technologiemi. Byla hledána a diskutována podobnost a rozdílnost v chování materiálů během shodných režimů zpracování s ohledem na rozdílné podmínky lití a zpracování. (cs)
