Description
  • Introduction: The aim of the study was to compare the leg-related morbidity and venous graft-patency outcome using endoscopic (EVH) and open harvest (OVH). Methods: Patients scheduled for isolated CABG were randomly divided into EVH and OVH group. The leg morbidity was recorded on day 7 after procedure and 1 month after discharge. The patency of grafts was examined using CT - coronarography one year later. Results: Clinical follow-up at day 7 shows higher incidence of large haematoma in EVH group (18 % vs. 2 %), but lower incidence of pain (12 % vs. 42 %), swelling of extremity (8 % vs. 26%) and n.saphenus dysaesthesia (0 % vs. 10%). The incidence of swelling, pain and dysaesthesia is lower in EVH group also one month after discharge. There were 9 grafts (out of 50 grafts examined by CT) and 5 grafts (out of 35 examined) occluded in EVH and OVH group respectively. Conclusions: The incidence of wound complicationes was lower and the cosmetic outcome was much better in the EVH group. We didn't find any difference in one-year graft patency rate.
