Description	The chapter summarises and reviews the major empirical findings from research into implementation of the European standards and guidelines for quality assurance at higher education institutions (ESG). The research covered 28 higher education institutions evenly distributed across seven European, Bologna-signatory countries (LV, PL, SK, CZ, NL, PT, UK). In reviewing the results of the implementation analysis, the chapter further identifies the main barriers and examples of good practice in relation to each of the seven European quality standards for higher education institutions (ESG1.1 – ESG1.7). Finally, the findings are discussed with respect to the conceptual underpinnings of the whole research enquiry as presented in the first chapter, which issues into identification of relevant themes for comparative, international research on ESG implementation.
