Description
  • Humic substances (HS) represent very significant components of the organic matter (OM) in soils and compost. Object of our study was soil of soil type Luvi-Haplic Chernozem (locality Praha-Ruzyně, Crop Research Institute). Three various amounts were added in soil Luvi-Haplic Chernozem in the year 2008: 124, 239 and 478 t/ha. Soil humic substances were extracted one year after compost application into the soil and analysed by means of ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy with Fourier transform, fluorescence spectroscopy and titration methods. Emission-Excitation spectra (EEM) obtained using fluorescence spectroscopy showed that compost contains well humified fractions of humic substances. In view of content of young less condensed aromatic structures is relative intensity of fluorescence of all free main peaks lower in comparison with soil humic substances. If we add more amount of compost, content of carboxylic, phenolic groups and ether bridges in soil humic substances increases,
