Description
| - Mineral carbonation, i.e. the reaction of calcium and magnesium containing mineral as wollastonite, montmorillonite and talc, is a novel and promising approach to carbon dioxide capture and long-term storage. The degradability of these three silicates in an aqueous solution of acetic acid at different temperature is main object of this study. The dissolution kinetic was discovering with using measured time dependence of Ca2+ and Mg2+ leached ions concentration. Leaching process is accompanied by formation of an amorphous SiO2. The formed by-product prosperities were investigated by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and thermal analysis (simultaneous TG-DTA).
