  • For calculation of discomfort glare (UGR, CGI, Netušil ...), we use a variable that represents the effect of the position of glare sources on the overall level of glare. From 1995 we use for evaluating discomfort glare only one method (UGR) in which there are positions index determined according to Luckiesh.s and Guth.s work. Its values are given in table CIE 117:1995 document, but we can find several empirical relationships, which should tabulated values calculated. These relationships often have different results and that.s why bringing to the whole issue evaluation discomfort glare unnecessary inaccuracies. Therefore, the following article points out the differences in calculations by empirical formulas, but also draws attention to certain difference arising from the use of official position by Luckiesh.s and Guth.s work against real physiological characteristics of the human eye.
