Description	The paper presents a novel work that can be onsidered as a baseline for future experiments in the area of the vocal emotion recognition from the Arabic spoken language. Moreover, it proposes a new approach to the classification of vocal emotion recognition based on the mapping of discrete emotions into two dimensional space defined by the valence and the activation of emotions. The work is divided into two parts: in the first part, the database of emotional speech constructed is described; this database contains emotional utterances extracted from several Syrian series from various Syrian actors. The second part deals with the approach proposed for the classification of emotions from speech.
