  • This paper is focused on the free space optical rangefinder devices and their operation during impaired weather conditions. Snowfalls and rainfalls are taken into account in this work. Analysis for communication wavelength 1550 nm and 850 nm is provided as well as maximal optical range is presented. Communication margin is introduced in the paper.
