Description	The temporomadibular joint is one of the most complex joints in the human body; in its eaxamination, non-invasive diagnostic methods can be used that are based on magnetic resonace or ultrasound examination. The output is always an image signal, which, however, is often degraded due to noise and interfarence from both the scanning instrument themselves and their enviroment. In the paper, the application is described of the method of thresholding the wavelet transform coefficients in order to enhance the image of relatively small temporomandibular joint, which facilitated the determination of a correct diagnosis of the afflicted joint. (en) Čelistní kloub je jedním z nejsložitějších kloubů lidského těla, při jeho vyšetření lze využít neinvazivní diagnostické metody založené na magnetické resonanci nebo na ultrazvukovém vyšetření. Výstupem těchto metod je vždy obrazový signál, který však často bývá znehodnocen vlivem šumů a rušení jak samotných snímacích přístrojů tak i okolí. V tomto článku je popsáno možné využití metody prahování koeficientů waveletové transformace pro zvýraznění obrazových signálů z MR tomografu i ze sonografu a pro potlačení šumu. Tato metoda byla použita na zvýraznění obrazu relativně malého čelistního kloubu vedoucímu k snazšímu určení správné diagnózy postiženého kloubu. (cs)
