Description	In the present time few Moravian foundries are facing higher production times after economic crisis. Therefore, after this period when production was decreased, more orders from customers and new types of castings can cause problems with defects and resulting increased repair costs. Analysis of samples from these castings can bring answers and solution for technologists, hence samples from these castings were taken and few of them are illustrated by light and SEM microscopy. Local chemical analyses were made by EDS. Supposed reasons for occurrences of these defects are described.
