Description
  • This paper deals with the possibilities offered by the ultrasonic pulse method in the non-destructive testing, especially of concrete, in the building industry. From the passage time of ultrasonic pulses we calculate the pulse velocity, from which it is also possible to estimate the concrete compressive strength. The paper also lists a few well-known methods of estimating strength according to various standards. The concrete calibration relations for estimating the compressive strength are illustrated in two examples from the building practice.
