Description
  • A disadvantage of the classical stress-ribbon type structure is the need to resist very large horizontal forces at the abutments, which determines the economy of that solution in many case. For that reason, new systems that combine the stress-ribbon with the arches or cables have been developed. The stress-ribbon structures supported or suspended on arches that form an economical self-anchored system are described.
