Description	This paper deals with the durability design and assessment of reinforced concrete structures in the view of advanced approaches incorporating probabilistic simulation, mathematical models of the degradation processes in concretes and steel. The reliability issues are treated as well. This approach is compatible to current trends encompassed in new fib document and provides the methodology for economically effective design of reinforced concrete structures. The practical software tools are presented - their utilization for service life prediction, concrete quality and concrete cover evaluation together with assessment of relevant reliability levels (durability limit states) are shown.
