Description
  • Approxiate structural design is conditioned by the ability of prediction of prediction of real structural response. This aim can be obtained by robust computational tools with implementation of proper failure models. In case of advanced building materials, these models are based on non-linear fracture mechanics. The efficient and reliable application of the models depends on successful tuning of corresponding material parameters. Although experimental techniques for determination of these characteristics are principally simple, the direct use of them in the material model is usually impossible due to specimengeometry influence and size effect.
