  • The properties of many porous building materials mostly depend on a material porous structure, especially on the volume, size and distribution of pores. Due to the weather conditions effect the progressive deformation occurs mainly on a %22covercrete%22 of concrete. Deformation rate depends on the concentration of noxious agents in environment and on actual moisture content in concrete. Due to airy carbon dioxide action at the air humidity presence concrete carbonises. This effect is demonstrated by the changes in a porous structure of covercrete and by the gradual reduction of the origin alkaline reaction in concrete. Slowly are initiated conditions for penetration of acid dioxides together with the air humidity toward reinforcement that is covered with this layer. The serious problem seems to be the absence of testing methods, which could evaluate the covercrete state.
