Description
  • Three different decoupling methods are recommended for Two-Input, Two-Output (TITO) processes. The methods are using static pre-, post- and mutual pre- and post-compensator, the latter one based on Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). The processes decoupled in steady-state are controlled by decentralized discrete-time PI controllers. As an application the concentration control of distillate and bottom product of a binary distillation column is simulated. It is shown that using a pre-compensator has some advantages over post-compensating.
