Description	Maps play an important role in decision processes because they contain a big amount of information that is spatially depicted. Although sophisticated technologies exist, printed maps are not replaceable in some situations. While interactive electronic maps are dependent on electric power and sometimes on Global Position System (GPS), printed maps can be used in a field. Next it is necessary to note that printed maps are usually cheaper. Present methods of map quality evaluation are based particularly on experts' opinions that are usually expressed by a set of heuristics. But usability engineering offers methods that include real end users into a user interface quality evaluation. This research shows that these methods after a suitable modification are suitable for maps quality evaluation because they strongly consider the given task, user and context of use.
