  • The results of the guided interviews with the principle representatives of 18 villages belonging into the functional urban region of the town Poprad showed the decisive role of such transformation processes as residential suburbanization and development of tourism and second housing in the local development. The most actual and perspective from the mentioned processes seems to be the residential suburbanization fulfilling the common local self-governments vision of quantitative development as a synonym for local development. In this way the most important barrier is the problem with the fragmented ownership and settlement of land. (en)
  • Cieľom príspevku je predstaviť vybrané aspekty súčasných premien vidieckeho zázemia mesta Poprad. Za určujúce transformačné procesy môžeme v danom ohľade považovať rezidenčnú suburbanizáciu a rozvoj cestovného ruchu a druhého bývania. Identifikácia hlavných príležitosti a obmedzení rozvoja sledovaných osemnástich vidieckych obcí sa opierala predovšetkým o výsledky riadených rozhovorov s čelnými predstaviteľmi miestnych samospráv.
