  • Predicted phase equilibria in the Bi–Sb–Sn ternary system based on the data for binary systems, taken from literature, have been checked experimentally and optimization of thermodynamic parameters for calculation of phase diagram by CALPHAD (CALculation of PHAse Diagram) method was performed. Ternary interaction parameters were introduced for SbSn intermetallic phase and for Rhombohedral and liquid phases. Three calculated vertical sections were compared with the DTA results both from this work and from literature data. Calculated isothermal sections at 300 oC and at 200 oC were compared with our own experimental results based on the SEM-EDX analysis of composition of phases. Solubility of Bi in SbSn phase was established. Predicted values of thermodynamic functions were collated with recently published experimental thermodynamic results.
