Description	Chromosome territory (CT) arrangement and somatic homologous pairing were investigated in interphase nuclei of Arabidopsis lyrata subsp. lyrata (n = 8), one of the closest relatives of A. thaliana (n = 5). CT arrangement and homologous pairing of different chromosome regions have been found similar in both species. Thus, the arrangement of interphase chromosomes appears to be conserved between both Arabidopsis taxa that diverged about 5 million years ago.
