Description
  • The Internet significantly influenced the ways of presenting and consuming sexual content. We understand cybersex as suggestive or explicitly erotic messages or sexual fantasies that people exchange via the net. Masturbation usually forms part of cybersex. Cooper stresses three primary factors that facilitate online sexuality - accessibility, affordability and anonymity of the Internet. Motives that lead individuals to cybersex are - albeit not necessarily conscious. The qualitative research conducted in 2003 revealed the needs that contribute to the motivation of people who practise cybersex. It is: desire for sexual satisfaction, desire for knowledge, desire to be himself/herself, desire to break away, desire to be wanted, trying to find a partner for real sex, excitement stemming from anonymity and from interactivity. It is important to know that these needs can mutually interact.
