Description	Patočka's conception of human being stems from the integrity of man with nature, history and culture. It is also essentially related to a metaphysical level, i.e., something transcending the reality of this world. Metaphysics, for Patočka, is a way of objective comprehension of the world as well as action, humanly free way of life. Patočka's formulations of the problem in 1946 are also inspired by Masaryk's ideas. (en) Pojęcie ludzkiego bycia Jana Patočki wychodzi z tego, że człowiek jest osadzony w naturze, historii i kulturze, ale ma z zasady związek z płaszczyzną metafizyczną, z czymś przekraczającym rzeczywistość tego świata. Metafizyka nie jest dla Patocki jedynie sposobem obiektywnego zrozumienia materii, ale jest to dzianie się, ludzki swobodny sposób życia. Sformułowanie w roku 1946 tego zagadnienia przez Patočkę zainspirowane było myślą Masaryka.
