Description
  • Inhibitory effects of two antiarrhythmics of class I (propafenone and trimecaine) on the potasium current sensitive to ATP (IKATP) are demonstrated and compared. The results suggest that considerable side effects frequently observed in patients with ischemic heart disease treated with some antiarrhythmics could result from suppression of naturally cardioprotective effect of IKATP.
