Description
Serotonin a všechna serotonergika (agonisti 5-HT receptorů, inhibitory zpětného vychytávání 5-HT, prekursory 5-HT, látky uvolňující 5-HT) zvyšují sekreci ACTH a kortisonu. Bylo klonováno 14 podtypů serotoninových receptorů. Receptory 5-HT1A, 5-HT1B, 5-HT1D, 5-HT1E, 5-HT1F, 5-HT2A, 5-HT2B, 5-HT2C, 5-HT4, 5-HT5A, 5-HT5B, 5-HT6, 5-HT7 jsou spjaty s Gi/Go-proteinem, a 5-HT3 receptorový subtyp je ionotropní. Funkční vztahy byly prokázány mezi behaviorální odpovědí na stres (anxieta, deprese, psychóza) a a (cs)
  • Serotonin (5-HT) was isolated in 1947 as a compound which modulates vasoconstriction (serum + vasotonic). Later it was identified as a neurotransmitter. High serotonergic projections are in the hippocampus and the basal ganglia, the regions important for regulation of emotions. Projections into hypothalamus activate HPA axis due to induction of CRF release. Neurobehavioural plasticity of the hippocampus is a target of stress and its atrophy may be involved in psychic disorders including anxiety. Serotonin and all serotonergic drugs (5-HT receptor agonists, 5-HT re-uptake inhibitors, 5-HT precursors, 5-HT releasing agents) increase secretion of ACTH and cortisone. The family of 5-HT receptors consists of 14 cloned subtypes. Receptors 5-HT1A, 5-HT1B, 5-HT1D, 5-HT1E, 5-HT1F, 5-HT2A, 5-HT2B, 5-HT2C, 5-HT4, 5-HT5A, 5-HT5B, 5-HT6, 5-HT7 are associated with Gi/Go-protein, and 5-HT3 receptor subtype is ionotropic one.
