Description	Studie analyzuje bariéry masivního rozšíření biopaliv ve veřejné dopravě v ČR. (cs) Since the early 1990s, various state programs were put in place to promote a rapeseed methyl ester production. A testing project for ETBE production from ethanol was carried out in 2000 and the government is currently investigating on support schemes for bioethanol production. Mandatory requirements for low volume blending of biofuels with mineral oil derivates are set to apply starting from 2007. However, at the time of writing there are no public transport operators using biofuels in the Czech Republic. A few of them use CNG and LPG buses, so they may potentially use biogas as well. The study attempts to analyze the existing barriers of a massive proliferation of biofuels in the public transport in the Czech Republic. We take into account current technologies employed for biofuels production, legislative requirements (fuel quality and emission standards), economic and technological feasibility and various social consequences including security of supply.
