Description	Spätpaläolithikum und Mesolithikum repräsentie- ren in Südböhmen Epochen mit relativ intensiven Besiedlungsspuren. Bis 2005 waren in dieser Region 698 vorneolithische Fundstellen bekannt, davon 29 spätpaläolithische in 23 Katastergebieten und 142 mesolithische in 72 Katastergebieten (Vencl u. Koll. 2006, 401; 404). Die überwiegende Mehrheit dieser Fundstellen ist in der westlichen Hälfte Südböhmens konzentriert. Im Kreis Jindřichův Hradec, der den südöstlichen Teil Südböhmens umfasst, waren bis 2005 nur 16 vorneolithische Fundstellen und ent- sprechend wenige einschlägige Funde bekannt, d.h. nur 2,3 % aller vorneolithischen Fundstellen ganz Südböhmens (vgl. Vencl u. Koll. 2006, 370). Dass wir es hier nicht mit historischen Realitäten zu tun haben, sondern lediglich mit dem gegenwärtigen Forschungsstand, belegen auch die neuesten Funde vom Teich Švarcenberk. Investigations of the Schwarzenberg Lake constantly bring important data on vegetation, landscape development, and human occupation since the end of the Last Glacial Maximum. Great scientific potential of the area base on conditions suitable for both palaeoenvironmental and archaeological research. This article is an attempt to summarize current state of knowledge on this important palaeoecological and archaeological area. Since the discovery in 1996, sediments of the extinct Schwarzenberg Lake represent the most complex archive of palaeoenvironmental information in the territory of the Czech Republic. Based on the results of pollen and other microfossils analyses, hypothesis on intensive occupation of the area in Mesolithic times was given. This hypothesis was largely supported by later archaeological survey and excavations. (en)
