Description	Die vorliegende Studie befasst sich mit der Professionalisierung der Geburtshilfe in Prag an der Wende vom 18. zum 19. Jahrhundert. Im Zentrum stehen die Probleme, die diesen Prozess der Vernakularisierung und Delatinisierung an der zweisprachigen Prager Universität begleiteten und zeitweilig belasteten. Diese bestanden vor allem in einer wechselseitigen Uberlagerung von sprachlichen und Bildungsunterschieden. Die Förderung der Ausbildung in tschechischer Sprache - nicht allein im Bereich der Medizin - markierte somit auch den Übergang zur ersten Phrase der 'nationalen Wiedergeburt'. The study deals with the professionalization of midwifery at Prague university at the turn of 18th and 19th centuries. The essential question concerts with the bilingual charactere of the land and of the university, because midwifery represents the only domain that has to be taught not only in latin /eventually in German/, but also - as a first university course - in Czech language.
